The amazingly beautiful story of the classic, as if woven by him from poetic words, or the endless feeling of love of a young woman for her husband – now it is difficult to say what prompted the sculptor Oksana Zhnikrup to work on this statuette. The wife of a famous porcelain sculptor, she expressed the depth of her feelings in sculpture. This can be seen in the skill of modeling, in the thoroughness of the painting, in the depth of the colors. Therefore, the work of Oksana Zhnikrup warmed more than one loving couple. You see the porcelain figurine “May Night” by the masters of the Polonsk Artistic Ceramics Plant. The sculpture also has the name “Lovers”. Based on the story of N.V. Gogol’s “May Night, or the Drowned Woman” from the famous collection “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka”.
