Predecessors of the magazine:
The magazine ?Radio Amateur? first appeared on August 15, 1924, and was published biweekly. The magazine ?Friend of Radio?, released in November 1924 in Leningrad, served as the organ of the Society of Radio Amateurs of the RSFSR and the North-Western Region, and was published monthly for two years. The magazine ?Radio Everyone?, whose first issue was published in September 1925, was released twice a month. At the beginning of 1930 (or in mid-1929), it was renamed to ?Radiofront?. At the end of 1930 (or in July 1930), the editorial offices of the magazines ?Radiofront? and ?Radio Amateur? merged. Subsequently, the magazine was published under the name ?Radiofront? until July 1941. The first post-war issue of the magazine was published in January 1946 under the title ?Radio?. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated August 14, 1974, the ?Radio? magazine was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
