FED-5 is a Soviet rangefinder camera, the second model from the unified series of the same name, which also included the FED-5V and FED-5S cameras. Produced by the Kharkov industrial machine-building association “FED” from 1977 to 1990. It differs from its counterparts by the presence of an exposure meter (compared to the FED-5V), and from the FED-5S – by the presence of diopter adjustment and the absence of frames in the viewfinder.

Format: small, film type 135 (24 * 36 mm frame);
Viewfinder: coupled with an optical rangefinder (base – 43 mm);
Exposure metering: manual setting of aperture and shutter speed, unpaired selenium exposure meter with shutter speed calculator;
Shutter type: focal-plane, shutter speeds from 1/500 to 1 s, shutter speed “B”;
Lens mount: М39, 28.8 mm flange focal length;
Features: mechanism of diopter correction + -2 diopters, self-timer (9-15 s).
