This set of postcards presents ceramics from the collection of the ceramics department of the State Historical Museum, numbering more than 25,000 items. The art of ceramics reached its true heyday in the 18th and 19th centuries, when, along with simple ceramics, they began to produce majolica, semi-faience, faience and porcelain. In the 18th century, majolica, products made from colored fragments covered with enamel, received a special development. The painting was applied over unfired enamel with water-based paints… Most of the majolica dishes and small plastics were created in the second half of the 18th century in the Moscow region, known as Gzhel.
